Barbershop singing is alive and well in Calgary! Alberta Gold was thrilled to share the stage with barbershoppers from all over Calgary on June 19, 2019 at the annual Calgary Multi-Chorus night, hosted this year by Western Hospitality Singers. Each year choruses and quartets gather together for a social evening, with drinks, food and entertainment. Ambrosia quartet performed a hilarous parody, and we were treated to many other great performances, some funny, some very moving. Rhythm of the Rockies blew the roof off with the debut of their International Contest package and were rewarded with a standing ovation from their barbership peers. Calgary is the place for four-part harmony, barbershop style!

Alberta Gold are proud participants in the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth - the Calgary Stampede! This year you will find us at the Window on the West stage on Tuesday, July 9th, and as part of the pre-parade celebrations on parade day, Friday, July 5th. See you there! Yahoo!

On May 2, 1984 Alberta Gold chartered as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. A lot of has changed in 35 years, but the core philosophy of our chapter (as well as a few early members!) remains the same. We love and support each other, we love to have fun, and WE LOVE TO SING!

Congratulations to Westcoast Harmony (chorus champions) and No Strings (quartet champions), and to all competitors and participants. Rehearsals have started for Alberta Gold's 2019 show - The Next Season, a musical play. The Rag Tag Theatrical Society needs to choose the final show for their upcoming season.  A simple decision or “Musical" chaos? Come out an see what happens on November 30 - matinee or evening performances. Ticket information will be available in the next few months.

We had a great winter retreat with our fabulous coach Cheryl Pearce from Magic City Chorus. The weekend was filled with singing and laughter and has us geared up to prepare for our upcoming show - November 30, 2019. Stay tuned for more information about this event!

Alberta Gold wishes the best of the season to all our friends and family! Rehearsals for 2018 finish on December 10, but we will resume again on January 7, 2019. Please join us any Monday evening if you'd like to learn more about barbershop singing and Alberta Gold Chorus.

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended our concert, A Christmas Holiday, we were able to present the Calgary Food Bank with over $700 with which to increase their buying power! We hope you enjoyed our concert, we sure enjoyed singing for (and with) you!
