Alberta Gold is always happy to participate as cheerleaders and singers along the route for the CIBC Run for the Cure on October 1, 2017. It's emotional and uplifting to sing as runners and walkers of all ages and abilities pass by with a wave and high five. With more than 5,000 participants and volunteers, this year's run raised over $900,000 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. For more information go to http://www.cancer.ca/en/?region=ab.

Yahoo! Alberta Gold has enjoyed a number of performances during this year's Calgary Stampede. We entertained residents and friends of the Garrison Green Active Living retirement community, and Stampede goers at the Window on the West stage in the Western Oasis at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park, as well as people coming and going at the Calgary Airport.

Alberta Gold had a great weekend at Regional Competition in Surrey, B. C. where we competed with 16 choruses and 18 quartets! We are happy with our results and would like to thank all the organizers for creating a memorable weekend. Cheers to Nina, Peggy, Betty, Melanie and Patricia who attended their first ever Sweet Adelines competition!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Friends and Family evening on April 10, 2017. We enjoyed singing for you, and appreciated the chance to present our competition package. This helps us prepare for the actual competition. It was also great to visit with so many friends, family and former members after the performance was over. 

Alberta Gold is excited to be chorus contestant #1 at the upcoming Region 26 Convention and Competition, held in Surrey, BC from April 27-30.

Thank you for joining us on December 12 for our Friends and Family Christmas show. Through your generosity, we were able to donate over $500 and many pounds of food to the Veteran's Food Bank. We hope you enjoyed the show and will join us for our spring Friends and Family concert on Monday, April 9, 2016.

In June 2015, it was acknowledged that we were the busiest barbershop chorus in Calgary, with 16 performances over the past 12 months.  Singing in the community is one of our favorite things to do and in particular, we work hard to put on a stellar show at the annual Calgary Stampede.  While we do a lot of singing for private functions, we hope to see you at one of our public performances in 2016.  Check out our events calendar!
