On May 2, 1984 Alberta Gold chartered as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. A lot of has changed in 35 years, but the core philosophy of our chapter (as well as a few early members!) remains the same. We love and support each other, we love to have fun, and WE LOVE TO SING!

Rehearsals have started for Alberta Gold's 2019 show - The Next Season, a musical play. The Rag Tag Theatrical Society needs to choose the final show for their upcoming season.  A simple decision or “Musical" chaos? Come out an see what happens on November 30 - matinee or evening performances. Ticket information will be available in the next few months.

We had a great winter retreat with our fabulous coach Cheryl Pearce from Magic City Chorus. The weekend was filled with singing and laughter and has us geared up to prepare for our upcoming show - November 30, 2019. Stay tuned for more information about this event!

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended our concert, A Christmas Holiday, we were able to present the Calgary Food Bank with over $700 with which to increase their buying power! We hope you enjoyed our concert, we sure enjoyed singing for (and with) you!

Welcome to the singers who came for open house and are joining us for Christmas 2018! If you were unable to attend our open house, it's not too late to sing with us for Christmas. Visit us on Monday, September 24 at 7 p.m. at Symon's Valley United church to try out barbershop singing. If you like it (and we think you will!), you can stay with us for two months of vocal instruction, learn a few songs, and perform with the chorus in our annual Christmas concert in November. Looking forward to meeting you!

Please join us on Monday, September 17 at 7 p.m. for our Fall Open House. We welcome women singers of all ages, and are looking forward to meeting you! There will be a group vocal warmup followed by a short performance, then you can join us on the risers to learn a song in four-part barbershop harmony. If you prefer you can just sit back and take it all in - no pressure! Guests who would like to come back will be able to rehearse with Alberta Gold weekly until mid-November when we will do a Christmas Concert for all our friends and family. You'll get to enjoy both the rehearsal time, camaraderie and friendship, as well as a performance experience!
